Hyderabad Relief Project

The Hyderabad Relief Project was a significant emergency response operation conducted by the Dar ul Huda Charitable Trust through its Kapada Bank (Cloth Bank) initiative. This project was specifically launched to provide humanitarian aid to the victims of the devastating floods and heavy rains that impacted Hyderabad, Telangana.

  • Hyderabad (2020): The city witnessed its heaviest rainfall in over a century, with nearly 200mm falling in just 24 hours. This triggered sudden flash floods that turned streets into powerful rivers, submerging thousands of homes and vehicles, causing over 100 deaths across the region and property damage exceeding ₹9,000 crore.
